The Zipline, a former tourist attraction at Borra Caves with breathtaking views of the Eastern Ghats, is set to recommence operations shortly. The state government is eager to revive this facility before the upcoming tourist season begins. Previously, the Zipline was managed through a public-private partnership between the state tourism development corporation and the Adventure Zone Sports Club. Disputes with the local Borra panchayat led to the suspension of its operations around four months ago. The government has stepped in to revitalize the Zipline, with plans for the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) to take over management and reimburse the Adventure Zone Sports Club for their investment. Despite allegations from the Borra Panchayat regarding permissions, the Adventure Zone Sports Club maintains that all necessary approvals were obtained. Efforts are underway to address concerns and move forward with the project successfully. Discussions within the Borra Panchayat Gram Sabha have resulted in the decision to operate the Zipline under the ‘Borra Zip-line Development Koyitiguda Society’. The APTDC has committed to delivering the promised share of Borra’s tourism revenue to the panchayat through proper channels. Plans are in motion to transition the Zipline from a public-private partnership to a government-owned initiative. The government aims to relaunch the Zipline next month, ensuring the interests of all parties involved are safeguarded.
