Revolutionizing Ganesh Pandal Approvals: Vizag's New Online Clearance System
Share

In a groundbreaking move aimed at streamlining the process of setting up Ganesh pandals in Vizag, the Visakhapatnam police have introduced an innovative online single window clearance system. This new system, inaugurated by Home Minister V. Anitha at the Circuit House on August 29, is set to revolutionize the way pandal organizers obtain necessary permissions for the upcoming Vinayaka Chavithi festival on September 7.

Gone are the days when pandal organizers had to navigate through multiple government offices to secure No-Objection Certificates (NOCs) from various departments. With just a simple click on their computers, organizers can now obtain the required NOC along with a unique QR code, thanks to this digital initiative.

Home Minister Anitha explained the straightforward process for obtaining permission. Pandal organizers are instructed to send a message ‘Hi’ to 7995095800 on WhatsApp or give a missed call to receive a link to ganeshutsav.net. Upon accessing the site, organizers need to provide necessary details such as contact information, committee members’ information, idol and pandal dimensions, event dates, immersion route, and vehicle details. Subsequently, a scheduled inspection date will be assigned.

A specialized team comprising officials from fire services, municipal corporation, and other relevant departments will conduct on-site inspections. Following the inspection, organizers are required to pay fees at the nearest Mee Seva center and upload the receipt to the website. The NOC, accompanied by a QR code, will then be promptly issued to the organizers. Encouraging the display of the QR code at the pandal, Minister Anitha highlighted its significance during police checks. By simply scanning the QR code, law enforcement can instantly verify the permissions granted to the pandal organizers. Commissioner of Police Shankabratha Bagchi and Joint Commissioner of Police K. Fakeerappa were present to support this transformative initiative.
