The King George Hospital (KGH) in North Andhra is gearing up to significantly enhance its patient services by establishing eight new counseling centers and introducing a WhatsApp service for sending blood reports. The primary goal of this initiative is to reduce patient waiting times and elevate the overall standard of medical care at the hospital.
During a recent media briefing, Dr. K. Shivananda, the superintendent of KGH, reiterated the hospital’s dedication to delivering superior medical services and promoting stronger connections between healthcare providers and patients. He stressed a strict zero-tolerance policy towards corruption within the institution, promising strict disciplinary measures against any staff member found involved in illicit activities.
To address patient concerns regarding challenges faced within the hospital, a central command control center has been set up at the collector’s office. Patients can now seek assistance by contacting the designated phone lines at 0891-2590100 or 2590102. Dr. Shivananda also highlighted the advantages of the Ayushman Digital Mission, which enables secure registration of medical records and grants doctors access to patient health histories through their unique Abha ID numbers. Additionally, progress is being made in digitally registering patient information under the Ayushman Bharat Digitization Mission, which facilitates improved access to medical records across hospitals in various states.
Furthermore, efforts are underway to streamline the issuance of birth and death certificates, as well as to address concerns related to conflicting claims made by different parties regarding patients. KGH is also focusing on enhancing patient care by implementing reforms in its casualty department and ensuring that all staff members fulfill their responsibilities effectively. Alongside these enhancements, plans are in place to improve parking facilities and to provide assistance to patients without smartphones by making staff members available in the outpatient department through mobile phones.
