The Skill University in Telangana, a monumental initiative by the Telangana government under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, is ready to launch its first set of courses on November 4th. This institution, established to provide youth with critical skills across various sectors, is located at Begari Kanche in Muchharla, Rangareddy district. The government has already received applications for admissions, and six high-demand courses will be offered in the initial phase.

In a significant gesture of support, the Adani Group Foundation, led by Chairman Gautam Adani, has donated a whopping ₹100 crores to the university. This donation was made official during a meeting between Adani and CM Revanth Reddy in Hyderabad. The funds will play a pivotal role in the expansion of the university, allowing it to reach its target of training one lakh youth annually in various skill sets.

Skill University is an ambitious project aimed at bridging the gap between education and employment. By providing training in essential skills, the university will create job opportunities for students in private companies. While the permanent campus in Begari Kanche is under construction, the university’s courses will be conducted at the Engineering Stop College of India in Gachibowli.

The Telangana government has announced that more courses will be added in the coming years, with the first batch focusing on six key areas of expertise. These courses are designed to cater to the current demands of industries, ensuring that graduates are job-ready. Anand Mahindra, a prominent industrialist, is serving as the chairman of the university and will guide its overall mission to empower the youth of Telangana.

Adani Group’s Generous Donation

In a landmark development, the Adani Group Foundation has pledged ₹100 crores towards the growth of Skill University. This donation was presented by Gautam Adani, who met with CM Revanth Reddy to officially hand over the funds. The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude for the generous contribution and praised Gautam Adani for supporting the state’s vision of empowering the youth.

This donation marks a significant step in expanding Skill University’s resources and capabilities, ensuring that more students can benefit from world-class training and opportunities in the future.

Vision for the Future

Skill University is not just a place of learning, but a hub for innovation and career development. With the support of industry leaders like Adani Group and Anand Mahindra, the university aims to become a beacon for skill development in India. The university’s focus on practical skills and industry collaborations will ensure that graduates are well-equipped to meet the demands of the evolving job market.

The Telangana government’s goal of training one lakh youth annually is just the beginning, with plans to expand the curriculum and introduce new courses in line with emerging industry trends.
