A Simplified Approach to Stamps and Registrations Services

The Stamps and Registrations Department has made significant strides in simplifying the process of obtaining vital documents such as Encumbrance Certificates (EC) and Certified Copies (CC). Gone are the days when citizens had to visit Meeseva Kendra or the sub-registrar’s office for these essential services. The new online system introduced by the government ensures that these documents are available at the click of a button, offering quicker access and reducing unnecessary delays.

Streamlining the Process for Citizens

Previously, individuals had to physically visit service centers and fill out the prescribed applications for obtaining ECs and CCs. This often led to long waiting periods, especially if there were holidays or other delays in the process. In some cases, applicants had to make multiple visits to the Meeseva Kendra, waiting several days for their required documents.

Now, the entire process has been digitized, allowing citizens to apply and receive their documents online without ever stepping foot in a service center or the sub-registrar’s office. The new online payment gateway developed by the Stamps and Registrations Department is designed to make this process seamless, and it has already been performing well, with users reporting quick access to certified copies and encumbrance certificates.

Empowering Rural Citizens

One of the key advantages of this new system is its accessibility to rural citizens, who may not have easy access to online services. With the online payment system, even those in remote areas can quickly and conveniently obtain their ECs and CCs. For those without internet access, service centers are still available to help facilitate the process, ensuring that no one is left out.

No Middlemen, No Hassle

A major concern that has been addressed with the new system is the involvement of middlemen. Previously, intermediaries were often involved in the application process, leading to unnecessary fees and delays. Now, the fees are directly credited to the Stamps and Registrations Department, ensuring that there is no involvement of intermediaries in the process.

RP Sisodia, the Special Principal Secretary of the Department of Revenue (Land Administration, Survey Settlement, Disaster Management, Slumps, Registrations), has confirmed that ECs and CCs can be obtained directly from the Stamps and Registrations Department, bypassing the need for intermediaries. This change has significantly reduced the chances of delays or misuse, ensuring that citizens receive the best possible service.

A Win for the Public

The new online system is a major leap forward in providing efficient government services. Citizens no longer have to endure long waits or multiple visits to service centers. The digitization of services like EC and CC has brought convenience to the doorstep of the common person, ensuring that even those in rural areas can access these vital documents with ease.

The transition to a fully online process is expected to continue improving, with additional services being made available through the Stamps and Registrations Department’s website. This move by the government not only reduces the physical labor involved but also enhances transparency, reduces delays, and ensures a smoother process for all citizens.
