Heavy rains continue to wreak havoc in Telangana as the Meteorological Department forecasts more downpours in 11 districts of the state. Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari has directed district Collectors to stay vigilant amid the looming weather threat.
A recent teleconference involving Collectors, SPs, and key officials highlighted the need for proactive measures in flood-affected areas such as Adilabad, Jagityala, Kamareddy, and others. Disaster response teams, including NDRF personnel, are being deployed to areas at risk.
Addressing the situation, CS Shanti Kumari emphasized the importance of preparedness to mitigate potential loss of life and property. With heavy rains imminent, coordinated efforts with law enforcement and other agencies are crucial to ensure public safety.
Additionally, decisions on school closures and relocation of residents in vulnerable zones are underway to preemptively address the impact of escalating rainfall. Authorities are closely monitoring water release from reservoirs and collaborating with neighboring states for effective flood control measures.
In light of the impending weather conditions, a proactive approach is essential to safeguard communities and infrastructure from the adverse effects of heavy rainfall.
