Torrential rains have wreaked havoc in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, causing widespread flooding and displacing thousands of residents. Nearly 400 villages have been inundated, leaving many homeless and in need of urgent assistance.

The calamity has paralyzed the traffic system in the affected regions, prompting authorities to evacuate people to safer locations. Prime Minister Modi has pledged support from the Center to help the states cope with the crisis, engaging with Chief Ministers N Chandrababu Naidu and Revanth Reddy to assess the situation on the ground.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has emphasized the severity of the situation, attributing the crisis to the overflowing Budmeru river. Efforts are underway to provide essential supplies to those in need, with a focus on rescue operations and medical assistance.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has also committed to aiding the affected states, coordinating relief efforts and deploying teams to assess the damage caused by the relentless rains. Tragically, the floods have claimed nine lives, underscoring the urgency of the relief operations.

Relief and rehabilitation centers have been established in various districts to accommodate displaced individuals, with medical camps set up to provide essential healthcare services. The combined efforts of local authorities, police, NDRF, and SDRF teams have already rescued hundreds of people from the flood-affected areas.
