Dasara celebrations took a sorrowful turn in Konaseema district on Saturday night, as two individuals tragically lost their lives during festivities, reportedly due to the overwhelming impact of loud DJ music.
In the village of Konkapalli, located in the Amalapuram rural Mandal, a 21-year-old man named Pappu Vinay, who had returned from his job at a private company to celebrate Dasara with his family in Bandarulanka, suddenly collapsed while dancing to the lively beats of the DJ. Witnesses recounted that he was enjoying the festivities with friends when he fell unconscious. Despite immediate efforts by locals to perform CPR and rushing him to a nearby hospital, doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival, attributing the cause to cardiac arrest. Interestingly, the Amalapuram rural police reported that Vinay’s family chose not to file any complaint regarding the incident.
In a separate but similar incident, Ch. Mohana Rao, a 45-year-old resident of Vadaparru, also experienced a sudden collapse while dancing to the DJ music during the celebrations in Gollavilli panchayat, Uppalaguptam Mandal. Unfortunately, his family did not report the incident to the authorities either.
These heartbreaking incidents serve as a reminder of the potential dangers associated with loud music and the physical strain it may impose, particularly during high-energy celebrations. While Dasara is a time for joy and togetherness, the loss of life underscores the importance of being aware of one’s health and well-being during festive occasions.
