During the lead-up to her inaugural 800-meter race at the New Ullevi Olympic Stadium last month, Kruti Kadakia found it difficult to eat. The sprinter was filled with nerves, sensing that she was about to embark on a demanding journey. This sentiment was shared by her fellow athlete and friend, Malleeswari Sunkara. However, it was precisely due to these feelings that both athletes had diligently trained. The determined duo of athletes overcame numerous obstacles and delivered outstanding performances, bringing honor to Telangana and India. At the recent World Masters Athletics Championships in Gothenburg, Sweden, both athletes from Telangana stood out. Kruti and Malleeswari were the sole representatives from their state among the 129 athletes representing India, competing in the 45 to 49-year-old age group.
