In a bid to revolutionize the devotional experience at Tirumala, TTD Chairman N. Chandrababu Naidu announced a series of significant reforms during the first meeting of the newly appointed TTD Board. Key among these was the proposal to use artificial intelligence (AI) to streamline the sarvadarshan of Lord Venkateswara, ensuring devotees can have darshan within 2-3 hours instead of enduring long hours in queues.

Key Decisions Taken:

  1. Introduction of AI in Devotee Services:
    • An expert committee will be formed to explore AI applications, aiming to provide seamless darshan experiences.
  2. Cancellation of Tourism Allotments:
    • The allocation of 4,000 darshan tickets through state Tourism Departments has been scrapped.
    • The Chairman stated, “Tirumala is a spiritual centre, not a tourist destination.”
  3. Rejection of Commercial Projects Near Tirumala:
    • The allotment of 20 acres of land near Alipiri for constructing a luxury hotel has been cancelled, as it was deemed offensive to devotees’ sentiments.
  4. Funds and Trust Reforms:
    • Srivani Trust funds will now be credited into TTD’s main trust account to maintain transparency while continuing Srivani services.
  5. Land Lease Violations:
    • The lease given to Sri Sarada Peetham near Gogarbham Dam has been revoked due to violations of norms.
  6. Restoration of Original Names:
    • Garuda Varadhi, renamed Srinivasa Sethu by the previous government, will now regain its original name to honor tradition.
  7. Banking Reforms:
    • Proposals to shift TTD deposits from private banks to public sector banks are under consideration.
  8. Enhanced Prasadam Offerings:
    • The Anna Prasada Bhavanam menu will now include additional prasadam for devotees.

TTD Calendar Release:

The chairman and Executive Officer Syamala Rao unveiled the much-awaited TTD calendars for the upcoming year, adding to the festive spirit among devotees.

A Holistic Vision for Tirumala:

These steps underline the TTD Board’s commitment to enhancing the spiritual and logistical aspects of Tirumala. The reforms aim to ensure transparency, protect the sanctity of the sacred site, and provide a fulfilling experience for millions of devotees.

Final Words:

Chairman Naidu reiterated that these decisions align with the sentiments and expectations of devotees, ensuring that Tirumala remains a beacon of spirituality and devotion for generations to come.
