In the serene realm of literature, Tirupati Kiran, hailing from Tirupati, discovers his utmost happiness. Engrossed in the world of characters, scripts, tales, and poems, Kiran’s love for literature shines through. Having already translated 100 works and now venturing into establishing his own publishing house, Kathaa prapancham, Kiran expresses, “My mind is always engrossed in books, forever pondering what to delve into next.”

A devoted admirer of Munshi Premchand, Kiran has translated 100 stories by Premchand into Telugu under the title ‘Premchand Kathaavali’, unveiled last September. His roster of beloved authors spans from Guy de Maupassant to Leo Tolstoy, R.K. Narayan, Raja Rao, and Mulk Raj Anand to Fyodor Dostoevsky. Kiran reminisces that reading has been his passion since childhood, recalling, “My inaugural story was published in Balamitra when I was in sixth grade,” he shared with Deccan Chronicle.

Reflecting on his brainchild Kathaa prapancham, Kiran recounts a significant encounter with Nobel laureate Margaret Atwood at the Jaipur Literary Festival as one of his most cherished moments. The privilege of conversing with her for ten minutes left an enduring impression. This unquenchable thirst for literature, coupled with such impactful encounters, eventually spurred him to initiate his publishing venture.

Commencing his literary journey with magazines like ‘Balamitra’, ‘Chandamama’, and ‘Bujjai’, Kiran’s passion for books guided him into the realm of literature. “As my love for literature blossomed, so did my engagement in the literary sphere. I actively engaged in prominent book fairs and literary festivals nationwide, seizing the chance to interact with esteemed writers and publishers. These exchanges went beyond mere networking; they were inspirational moments that kindled my zeal for publishing,” Kiran concluded.
