In a major announcement that has thrilled cricket fans across the world, Virat Kohli has hinted at his ambition to continue his career until 2027, aiming for an incredible 20-year journey with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Retained by the franchise for a significant sum of ₹21 crore, the 36-year-old legend shared his commitment to RCB, the team he’s represented since the Indian Premier League’s (IPL) inception in 2008. Despite reaching what many consider the “twilight” of his storied career, Kohli’s passion and connection to RCB remain unbreakable.

Speaking on RCB Bold Diaries, Kohli said, “At the end of this cycle, it is going to be 20 years that I am going to be playing for RCB, and that in itself is a very, very special feeling for me.” Known for his unyielding spirit, Kohli expressed his loyalty to the franchise, adding, “I don’t see myself anywhere other than RCB, and I am very happy that it happened.”

Over his IPL career, Kohli has accumulated over 8,000 runs with a strike rate of 131.97, including eight centuries and 55 fifties, making him the leading run-scorer in IPL history. While Kohli has experienced ups and downs, particularly since the onset of COVID-19, his dedication to the game and RCB hasn’t waned.

Looking forward to the upcoming auction, he shared his excitement about creating a formidable squad capable of winning the elusive IPL title. With a powerful bond with RCB fans and an enduring dream to lift the trophy, Kohli’s journey continues to inspire millions.

Fans are eagerly anticipating the next few years to see Kohli reach this landmark and perhaps, finally bring the IPL trophy home to Bengaluru.
