Vizianagaram is set to celebrate the much-anticipated Sri Sri Paidithalli Ammavaru Sirimanu Utsavam, a festival deeply rooted in the district’s rich musical, cultural, and literary heritage. This year’s festival marks a significant milestone as it is the first to be organized since the formation of the alliance government, making it even more prestigious for public representatives and authorities.

The festival’s planning is in full swing, with a focus on showcasing Vizianagaram’s grandeur while preserving local traditions. Scientific and entertaining programs are also being incorporated to enrich the experience for festival-goers. The minister, local MLAs, district collector, and festival committees have collaborated to gather insights and recommendations, ensuring the smooth and successful organization of the event.

This year’s festivities will be hosted across 12 venues, each managed by a dedicated team of officials and permanent members. Public representatives are eager for this year’s event to leave a lasting impression on all who attend. The celebrations are scheduled to begin with the Tholela program on October 14 and the iconic Sirimanu event on October 15.

A notable highlight this year is the relocation of a sacred tamarind tree from Pedda Thadivada village of Denkada Mandal to Vizianagaram. Thirteen skilled carpenters will transform this tree into the revered Sirimanu pole, central to the festival’s proceedings.

In an effort to captivate audiences, a diverse range of programs has been curated, promising an unforgettable experience. A unique addition to the festival lineup is a laser show that will narrate the history of Sri Paidimamba and the grandeur of Vizianagaram Fort. For the first time, the event will span two days rather than one, allowing for even more elaborate celebrations.

The festivities on October 13 will feature Jabardast skits by the popular Hyper Adi troupe, an energetic salsa performance by the Calcutta Dancers, and a musical performance by Sa. Orchestra from Indian Idol. The excitement continues on October 14 with a grand musical night featuring renowned singer Karthik. Adding to the excitement, a hot air balloon show will take place at Ayodhya Maidan, offering a breathtaking view of the festivities below.

To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all attendees, over 2,000 personnel from six districts have been appointed for security duties. Eighty CCTV cameras, linked to a central command control room, will provide real-time monitoring, while three drones conduct aerial surveillance. Additional police personnel will be on hand to manage traffic, and separate parking areas have been designated for vehicles.

As Vizianagaram prepares to celebrate this significant event, authorities emphasize that the safety and comfort of attendees remain a top priority. This year’s Sri Sri Paidithalli Ammavaru Sirimanu Utsavam promises to be a memorable occasion, showcasing the spirit and culture of Vizianagaram for all to enjoy.
