Team India’s star all-rounder Hardik Pandya continues to shine, creating history in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy. Playing for Baroda, Pandya became the first Indian cricketer to achieve the rare milestone of 5000+ runs and 100 wickets in T20 cricket. This incredible feat occurred during a thrilling match against Gujarat at the Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore.

A Match-Winning Performance
In this high-stakes encounter, Gujarat batted first after winning the toss, posting a competitive total of 184/5 in 20 overs. Opener Arya Desai led Gujarat’s charge with a stellar 78 off 52 balls, including three sixes and nine fours. Despite Gujarat’s strong start, Baroda’s bowling unit managed to contain the damage, setting the stage for an exciting chase.

Baroda’s innings got off to a rocky start, losing two quick wickets for just 16 runs. However, Hardik Pandya, coming in at number five, turned the tide with a scintillating unbeaten 74 off 35 balls, including five towering sixes and six elegant fours. His partnership with Shivalik Sharma (64 off 43 balls) proved decisive, steering Baroda to a remarkable victory with three balls to spare.

Historic Milestone for Hardik Pandya
With this innings, Pandya’s T20 stats now stand at 5067 runs and 180 wickets. This record cements his legacy as one of India’s finest all-rounders in T20 cricket.
