The excitement surrounding TV9 Network’s prestigious Indian Tigers and Tigresses talent hunt competition has reached a fever pitch as the event enters its eighth day. Organized in collaboration with Sports For All (SFA), this talent hunt program is aimed at recognizing young sporting talent across various disciplines, with the winners set to be honored in Germany in 2025. The event has already captivated Hyderabad’s sports community, with packed stadiums and highly competitive performances from budding athletes.
This landmark initiative by TV9, which partners with international organizations such as Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, India Football Centre, IFI, BVB, and RIESPO, has been a massive success. It is paving the way for young athletes to showcase their skills on a national and international level. As part of the ongoing SFA Championships 2024, Day 8 saw intense action across multiple sporting events at various venues in Hyderabad.
Day 8 Highlights:
At the iconic Gachibowli Stadium, the spotlight was on the athletics events. The Boys U-18 1500m final saw fierce competition, while the Boys U-16 800m and Girls U-18 400m finals kept the crowd on the edge of their seats. In the Girls U-18 1500m race, Sai Nischal from The Creek Planet School took the top honors, while Arya Mudaliar from Meridian School, Madhapur, won the Girls U-16 800m race.
MR Navadeep from Bolaram Sadashiva School bagged the gold medal in the Boys U-12 Shot Put, impressing with his strength and technique. In the Girls U-12 High Jump, Arvi Withanala of TNR Excellence Academy claimed the gold with a stellar performance.
The day also featured basketball, handball, and volleyball matches, adding to the adrenaline-fueled excitement. In the 2×2 Cube Solving competition for Boys U-10, Karthikeya Abhiran Pemmaraju of DAV Public School (Safilguda) won the gold medal, while Yudhira Manchem of The Future Kids School (Puppalguda) topped the girls’ U-10 category.
Football Fever:
Football matches were held at the historic Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium, where the Under-16 boys teams battled it out in Round 3. The level of competition was fierce, and fans were treated to an incredible display of skills, strategy, and teamwork from these young athletes. With each round, the intensity is building as teams strive to secure their place in the upcoming knockout stages.
Badminton Takes Off:
Meanwhile, the Badminton Under-17 Girls Doubles event reached its quarterfinals at the Sri Kotla Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy Stadium. The level of play was top-notch, with teams pushing their limits to advance to the semifinals.
School Leaderboard:
As Day 8 concluded, Vignon’s Bow Tree School maintained their dominance on the leaderboard, showcasing their talent across multiple sports. They now lead the standings, with DDMS AMS in second place, and P. Obul Reddy Public School trailing behind in third.
