Team India kicked off their three-match T20 series against Bangladesh with an impressive victory, winning the first match by 7 wickets. The match took place on Sunday, October 7, at the New Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior, marking a successful start to the series for the Indian side.
Star all-rounder Hardik Pandya was the standout performer of the match, showcasing his prowess with both bat and ball. He scored an explosive 39 runs off just 16 balls at a remarkable strike rate of 243.75. His innings included five boundaries and two towering sixes, with one particular shot becoming the highlight of the game. In the 12th over, Pandya faced a bouncer from veteran Bangladeshi bowler Taskin Ahmed and executed a spectacular “no look six” that left everyone in awe. The shot, which flew to the boundary at lightning speed, has since gone viral on social media.
The Indian captain, Suryakumar Yadav, won the toss and opted to bowl first, a decision that paid off as the Bangladeshi team struggled, being bowled out for just 127 runs in 19.4 overs. Varun Chakravarthy and Arshdeep Singh were particularly effective, each claiming three wickets. Hardik Pandya, Mayank Yadav, and Washington Sundar also contributed to the bowling attack, helping to restrict Bangladesh’s scoring.
Chasing a target of 128 runs, Team India made quick work of the innings, reaching the target in just 11.5 overs, losing only three wickets in the process. In addition to Pandya’s explosive innings, both Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav contributed significantly, scoring 29 runs each to seal the victory for their team.
This victory marks a strong start for India in the series against Bangladesh, showcasing the team’s excellent form and setting a positive tone for the upcoming matches.
