Young batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal is all set to create a huge record in the ongoing Test series between India and Bangladesh. He is just a few steps away from becoming number-1 in one respect. Indian captain Rohit Sharma is ready to push back star batsman Ajinkya Rahane. Team India’s young batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal is practicing hard for the upcoming two-Test series between India and Bangladesh. In the Test series against England at the beginning of the year, Yashasvi’s bat rained runs. The young batsman scored 700+ runs in the series with two double centuries. Everyone is dying to see him bat against Bangladesh as well. Yashasvi is on the verge of creating history in the current 2023-25 World Test Championship (WTC) season. Looks like he might do it in the upcoming series. He was just 132 runs away.

Yashasvi, who made his debut for Team India last year, scored 1028 runs while batting a storm in the current World Test Championship season. The 22-year-old star is just 132 runs away from becoming the highest run-scorer by an Indian batsman in a WTC single season. The current record is held by former Indian captain Ajinkya Rahane who scored 1159 runs in the 2019-21 WTC season.

If Yashaswi scores 132 runs in the next two-match series, he will leave Rahane. Along with Indian captain Rohit Sharma, Yashaswi is among the three Indian players to score more than 1000 runs in a WTC season. Yashaswi is the second highest run-scorer among batsmen in WTC 2023-25. He is equal with England player Ben Duckett who has scored 1028 runs so far. England’s star batsman Joe Root is in the lead. He has scored 1398 runs so far. There are 5 centuries and 6 fifties in it.

India topped the table with a percentage of 68.52 points in the current WTC season. After the Bangladesh series, the WTC schedule includes three Tests at home against New Zealand and an important five-Test series against Australia. However, Bangladesh will face a tough challenge after their historic 2-0 whitewash against Pakistan. It is known that they won the first Test by 10 wickets and won the second Test by six wickets and won the first Test series against Pakistan on Pakistani soil.
