Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has directed the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) to initiate talks and restore Andhra Pradesh’s international reputation, which he emphasized was tarnished during the previous government’s tenure.

At a meeting with CMO officials on Saturday, the Chief Minister highlighted how several agreements with foreign nations, including Singapore, were revoked by the YSRC government, damaging Andhra Pradesh’s credibility. These agreements had been established after extensive consultations and with the consensus of various stakeholders.

“The unreasonable actions of the Jagan Mohan Reddy government caused significant harm to Andhra Pradesh’s global standing,” said Chandrababu Naidu. He stressed the importance of international collaboration for the state’s development, particularly the need for Singapore’s support in advancing Amaravati’s growth as a global city.

The Chief Minister urged officials to resume consultations with foreign governments and international agencies to rebuild mutual trust. He stated that such efforts would encourage international partnerships, revitalizing Andhra Pradesh’s journey toward development in key sectors.

In a separate development, Chandrababu Naidu extended his congratulations to the Mahayuti alliance for their historic victory in the Maharashtra Assembly elections. In a message on X (formerly Twitter), he praised the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating:
“This victory reflects people’s continued trust in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whose strategic vision, transformative policies, and devotion to the people are paving the way for a Viksit Bharat to emerge.”

The CM personally called Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde, and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis to commend their efforts in securing this remarkable mandate.

With a focus on rebuilding Andhra Pradesh’s global image and celebrating national political successes, Chandrababu Naidu continues to position AP as a state with vision and potential for transformative growth.

The Andhra Pradesh Budget Assembly sessions came to an end on Friday, with both houses being adjourned indefinitely. However, the final day was marked by a stirring speech from Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, who outlined his vision for the state’s progress and addressed key development goals.

Swarnandhra-2047 and Vision 2027

In his comprehensive address, CM Chandrababu Naidu introduced the Swarnandhra-2047 document, which charts a roadmap for Andhra Pradesh’s development over the next few decades. A key focus was Vision 2027, an intermediate milestone aimed at transforming Amaravati into a world-class city and completing vital infrastructure projects like Polavaram.

Key highlights of the plan include:

  • Amaravati Development: Construction to commence in December 2024, with a phased completion timeline of 6, 9, 12, and 30 months for various buildings.
  • Polavaram Project: Set to be completed and operational by 2027, dedicated to the nation.
  • Budget Allocation: ₹50,000 crores to be invested in Amaravati’s development over the next three years.

Naidu emphasized the government’s commitment to building a “Wealthy, Healthy, and Happy Andhra Pradesh” and urged all MLAs to prepare a vision document for their respective constituencies.

Political Statements: Chandrababu’s Future

In a surprising turn, Chandrababu Naidu hinted at his future role in Andhra Pradesh politics. He declared that he might not serve as Chief Minister in the next term but promised to continue contributing as a team leader. Calling this phase “Chandrababu 4.0,” he underscored his belief in being re-elected based on good governance.

Drawing comparisons to long-serving governments in other states, Naidu expressed confidence in his party’s ability to lead Andhra Pradesh for the foreseeable future.

Key Development Goals

Naidu’s address also provided detailed updates on:

  1. Amaravati: The upcoming capital city is envisioned as a modern hub of governance and culture, with work expected to ramp up rapidly.
  2. Polavaram Project: The lifeline of Andhra Pradesh, this project aims to transform the state’s irrigation capabilities and is a critical part of Vision 2027.
  3. Economic Growth: The budget reflects a focus on infrastructure, innovation, and welfare to boost the state’s economy and improve the quality of life for its citizens.

Conclusion

CM Chandrababu Naidu’s speech marks a significant step in Andhra Pradesh’s ambitious journey toward becoming a model state. With the Swarnandhra-2047 and Vision 2027 plans now public, all eyes are on the government to deliver on these promises. Naidu’s decision to focus on leadership and vision rather than the Chief Ministership indicates a strategic shift, potentially paving the way for new leadership while ensuring continuity in governance.

As Amaravati gears up for its transformation and Polavaram approaches completion, Andhra Pradesh stands at the cusp of a new era of development and prosperity.

In a significant announcement during the Andhra Pradesh Assembly session, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu set an ambitious timeline to complete the Polavaram irrigation project by 2027. Outlining the roadmap, Naidu emphasized his commitment to ensuring water access for every acre of farmland in the state and mitigating the risks of drought.

Polavaram Project Timelines and Budget

Naidu stated that the critical works on the diaphragm wall would commence in January 2025 and conclude by March 2026. Simultaneously, the construction of the earth-cum-rock-fill (ECRF) dam gap-1 is scheduled for completion by February 2026. The final phases of the project are expected to wrap up by December 2027.

The project, which aims to construct a dam with a height of 45.72 meters, is estimated to cost a massive ₹255,000 crore. The Union government has sanctioned ₹12,157 crore for the execution and planned completion, marking a collaborative effort between the state and central governments. Naidu expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil for their support in realizing this vision.

Interlinking Rivers for Comprehensive Water Management

The Chief Minister also reiterated his ambition to interlink the rivers Godavari and Krishna, extending their waters to Nagarjuna Sagar, Bollapalli, and Penakacherla. With an estimated cost of ₹70,000 crore, this initiative aims to provide irrigation water across Andhra Pradesh and prevent future droughts.

Historical Context of the Polavaram Project

Tracing the project’s origins to 1941, Naidu recounted its evolution, from being envisioned as a storage reservoir on the Godavari River to its current scale. The foundation stone for Polavaram was first laid by then-Chief Minister T. Anjaiah in 1981, and subsequent governments have contributed to its progress.

Amaravati and Polavaram: Pillars of Development

Declaring Amaravati and Polavaram as the “two eyes of Andhra Pradesh,” Naidu stressed their importance in shaping the state’s economic and agricultural landscape.

Legislative Achievements

In addition to discussing irrigation projects, the Assembly passed four key amendments aimed at improving cooperative societies, excise regulations, and the trade of liquor within the state. These legislations underscore the government’s holistic approach to development.

Chandrababu Naidu’s vision for the Polavaram project and interlinking rivers symbolizes his long-term strategy for water sustainability and agricultural growth in Andhra Pradesh, promising a prosperous future for the state.

The coalition government in Andhra Pradesh, under the leadership of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, has significantly accelerated the development of Amaravati, moving forward with ambitious infrastructure projects to transform the capital city. Recently, CM Naidu inaugurated the first-of-its-kind gas-insulated substation (GIS) in Tallaiyapalem, a crucial step to ensure uninterrupted, high-quality power supply to Amaravati.

New GIS Substation to Power Amaravati’s Growth

The 400/220 KV gas-insulated substation, established by the Transmission Corporation of Andhra Pradesh Limited (AP Transco), is designed to cater to the growing energy needs of the capital city and surrounding areas. Prior to this, Amaravati was dependent on power from the Tadikonda substation, but with the rapid expansion of the capital, the new GIS substation will provide stable power to Tullur, Mangalagiri, Tadepalli mandals, and even support the industries in Guntur and NTR districts.

CM Naidu laid the foundation for the new substation with a focus on creating a reliable infrastructure that will enable Amaravati to grow into a thriving metropolis. Additionally, the government has committed to completing other significant projects, including 11 new substations across the state, with a total investment of 6,098 crores, all expected to be completed within the next year.

Efforts to Resolve Land Pooling Dilemma

Along with the new infrastructure, Municipal Minister Narayana has been actively working to resolve issues related to land pooling for Amaravati’s development. The government faced challenges in the past when some farmers hesitated to participate in the land pooling process due to concerns and misconceptions. To address these doubts, Minister Narayana personally visited the residence of farmer Anumolu Gandhi in Vijayawada to explain the necessity of the capital and the government’s assurances regarding their concerns.

This proactive approach aims to boost farmer confidence and expedite the progress of Amaravati’s construction. The government is determined to overcome the hurdles and make Amaravati a world-class city.

Amaravati 2.0 – The Road Ahead

As the development of Amaravati progresses at full speed, CM Chandrababu Naidu emphasized that the city, once regarded as a barren desert, will soon transform into one of the leading cities in India. The comprehensive action plan spearheaded by the AP government is set to create a solid foundation for the capital’s growth, ensuring that the city is equipped with modern infrastructure, facilities, and opportunities for residents and businesses alike.

With a clear vision for Amaravati 2.0, the state is working tirelessly to bring the dream of a vibrant, well-planned capital to fruition. The collaboration of government officials and the support of the local farming community will be crucial in accelerating the city’s transformation into the jewel of Andhra Pradesh.

In a major boost to the development of Amaravati, the Central Government has given its nod to a new railway project that will connect the city to major metro cities across India. This decision is part of a larger plan to enhance Amaravati’s infrastructure and national connectivity, and the project promises to play a crucial role in the city’s reconstruction and growth.

The Central Cabinet recently approved this much-anticipated project, signaling brighter days for Amaravati. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, hailing the move as a major step in realizing the vision of making Amaravati one of the premier cities in the country.

Key Features of the Amaravati Railway Line Project

The railway line is expected to cover 57 km and will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 2,245 crores. This project includes a 3.2 km bridge over the Krishna River, providing a vital link between key regions in Andhra Pradesh.

  • Route Details:
The new railway line will stretch from Errupalem to Nambur via Amaravati, connecting the capital city to metro cities like Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and even Delhi. The connection with South, Central, and North India will be significantly enhanced, making travel more accessible and efficient.
  • Tourism and Cultural Significance:
The new line will offer easy access to prominent cultural and tourist destinations, including the Amaravati Stupa, Undavalli Caves, Amaralingeshwara Swamy Temple, and the Dhyanabuddha Project. This will not only benefit the residents but also encourage tourism, contributing to the city’s overall economy.

Impact on Amaravati’s Development

The Amaravati Railway Line is seen as a key step in transforming the capital into a thriving urban center. The project, which is expected to be completed in four years, will not only make travel easier for residents but will also serve as a catalyst for economic growth in the region. The improved connectivity will attract businesses, investments, and tourists, making Amaravati a focal point of development in Andhra Pradesh.

A Vision for the Future

The approval of this railway line aligns with the government’s long-term vision for Amaravati. By connecting the city with major metropolitan hubs, the project will ensure Amaravati’s inclusion in the broader national development narrative. The state government has taken the challenge of reconstructing Amaravati head-on, and the progress on the railway project is one of the many positive outcomes.

Gratitude from Andhra Pradesh’s Leadership

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu thanked Prime Minister Modi and the central government for their support in fast-tracking the railway line project. He noted that this development brings the state closer to realizing its dream of making Amaravati one of the top cities in India.

As the foundation for the railway line is set to be laid soon, anticipation is building across Andhra Pradesh. The people of Amaravati can now look forward to enhanced connectivity, faster transportation, and a brighter future for their capital city.

The coalition government, formed just two and a half months ago, is approaching the culmination of its ambitious 100-day action plan. Under the leadership of AP CM Chandrababu, the government has set out to make significant changes and improvements in governance within this short timeframe.

From the outset, the Chief Minister emphasized the need for decisions and activities that distinguish this administration from its predecessor. All departments were tasked with setting specific targets and working tirelessly to achieve them. As the deadline of September 22nd draws near, the government is intensifying its efforts to fulfill its promises to the people.

One of the key focuses of the government has been on rectifying the mistakes of the past administration. Initiatives such as cracking down on illegal activities like ganja and drugs, boosting the agriculture sector, and developing capital projects like Amaravati and Visakha have been at the forefront of the agenda.

Recent reviews by CM Chandrababu have highlighted the progress made by various departments towards meeting the 100-day goals. The government has also engaged in collaborations with experts from IITs to ensure the successful implementation of key projects.

Progress continues in the development of Amaravati, as the Andhra Pradesh government gains further insight from the World Bank regarding funding outlined in the Union Budget. A significant meeting took place today between Chandrababu and the World Bank teams, during which discussions included the potential for a loan from the World Bank.

Field studies have already been conducted on construction projects and roads in Amaravati. Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu urged Telugu Desam Members of Parliament on Saturday to prioritize securing funds from various Central ministries, highlighting the importance of financing for the Polavaram and Amaravati projects for the progress of Andhra Pradesh.

Ahead of the Parliamentary session on Monday, Naidu provided strategic advice to party MPs, with state ministers also in attendance.

Naidu criticized former chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy for engaging in “fake politics,” asserting that despite being rejected in the polls, Reddy’s behavior remains unchanged. He remarked, “Compared to the previous YSRC government and Jagan Mohan Reddy, even extremists and terrorists seem better.”

He stressed that the focus should be on actionable steps rather than Reddy’s activities in Delhi. Naidu instructed party members to advocate for Andhra Pradesh’s development in Parliament and to gather information from various agencies. MPs were encouraged to liaise with state and Union ministers in their respective departments as necessary.

“The Central government should provide programs, funding, and schemes for AP. Many have placed their trust in us, enabling our victories with strong majorities,” the CM stated.

He emphasized the need for Central funding for projects like the Jal Jeevan Mission, Polavaram, and Amaravati, and noted that MPs must ensure the implementation of the AP Reorganisation Act’s provisions. He mentioned ongoing discussions with the Telangana government regarding property division as outlined in Schedules 9 and 10 of the Act.

Naidu also urged MPs to counter misinformation about the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) and to engage with the Center to ensure effective management of the plant, suggesting that it should consider allocating mines to VSP.

Lastly, he instructed the MPs to advocate for the implementation of railway and highway projects in Andhra Pradesh, emphasizing the importance of making every moment count in their roles. “If you take the initiative, good things will come to the state soon,” Naidu concluded.
