The coalition government in Andhra Pradesh, under the leadership of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, has significantly accelerated the development of Amaravati, moving forward with ambitious infrastructure projects to transform the capital city. Recently, CM Naidu inaugurated the first-of-its-kind gas-insulated substation (GIS) in Tallaiyapalem, a crucial step to ensure uninterrupted, high-quality power supply to Amaravati.

New GIS Substation to Power Amaravati’s Growth

The 400/220 KV gas-insulated substation, established by the Transmission Corporation of Andhra Pradesh Limited (AP Transco), is designed to cater to the growing energy needs of the capital city and surrounding areas. Prior to this, Amaravati was dependent on power from the Tadikonda substation, but with the rapid expansion of the capital, the new GIS substation will provide stable power to Tullur, Mangalagiri, Tadepalli mandals, and even support the industries in Guntur and NTR districts.

CM Naidu laid the foundation for the new substation with a focus on creating a reliable infrastructure that will enable Amaravati to grow into a thriving metropolis. Additionally, the government has committed to completing other significant projects, including 11 new substations across the state, with a total investment of 6,098 crores, all expected to be completed within the next year.

Efforts to Resolve Land Pooling Dilemma

Along with the new infrastructure, Municipal Minister Narayana has been actively working to resolve issues related to land pooling for Amaravati’s development. The government faced challenges in the past when some farmers hesitated to participate in the land pooling process due to concerns and misconceptions. To address these doubts, Minister Narayana personally visited the residence of farmer Anumolu Gandhi in Vijayawada to explain the necessity of the capital and the government’s assurances regarding their concerns.

This proactive approach aims to boost farmer confidence and expedite the progress of Amaravati’s construction. The government is determined to overcome the hurdles and make Amaravati a world-class city.

Amaravati 2.0 – The Road Ahead

As the development of Amaravati progresses at full speed, CM Chandrababu Naidu emphasized that the city, once regarded as a barren desert, will soon transform into one of the leading cities in India. The comprehensive action plan spearheaded by the AP government is set to create a solid foundation for the capital’s growth, ensuring that the city is equipped with modern infrastructure, facilities, and opportunities for residents and businesses alike.

With a clear vision for Amaravati 2.0, the state is working tirelessly to bring the dream of a vibrant, well-planned capital to fruition. The collaboration of government officials and the support of the local farming community will be crucial in accelerating the city’s transformation into the jewel of Andhra Pradesh.

During a legislature party meeting of the TD-led alliance at CK Convention in Mangalagiri on Wednesday, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu brought attention to concerns regarding the Tirumala Sri Vaari Laddu. Naidu expressed his dismay over allegations that animal fat, instead of ghee, was used in the Tirumala prasadam during the previous government’s term under YSRC rule. He emphasized that such practices had a negative impact on the sanctity of the Tirumala Venkateswara Swamy Temple.

Accusing the previous administration of nefarious actions at Tirumala, Naidu claimed that inferior quality laddus and annaprasadam were being distributed to devotees. He highlighted the shift to using pure ghee in the preparation of Tirumala laddu following the ascent of the TD-led alliance government in Andhra Pradesh.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister instructed the MPs and MLAs affiliated with the alliance parties to develop vision documents tailored to their constituencies. Despite facing financial challenges upon assuming office, Naidu expressed confidence in the government’s progress, stating, “When we took charge, the treasury was depleted, lacking even the funds to cover salaries. Nevertheless, we are forging ahead with determination.”

In a groundbreaking move, the Andhra Pradesh government has initiated sweeping reforms aimed at modernizing governance practices in the state. The archaic remnants of British colonial rule are being dismantled as the government ushers in a new era of efficiency and transparency.

One of the most notable changes introduced by the AP government is the abolishment of traditional royal customs in sub-registrar offices. Red carpets and podiums, symbols of outdated hierarchy, have been removed to foster a more welcoming and egalitarian environment. This shift towards friendly governance signifies a departure from the age-old practices that have long prevailed in administrative settings.

The sub-registrars, often likened to judges in their roles, are undergoing a transformation in their seating arrangements to align with the principles of simplicity and accessibility. This change reflects the government’s commitment to serving the people diligently and without delay.

Moreover, the government is implementing innovative measures to enhance citizen experience within government offices. Initiatives such as providing fresh water, tea, and coffee to visitors demonstrate a customer-centric approach aimed at improving public service delivery.

Sisodia, the special chief secretary of the revenue department, has been instrumental in spearheading these reforms. By removing podiums from sub-registrar offices and advocating for a more dignified approach to governance, Sisodia is leading the charge towards a more efficient and people-centric administration.

The government’s proactive stance on revamping administrative practices has garnered widespread approval from the public. Citizens are lauding the government’s efforts to modernize governance and prioritize the needs of the people.

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has suggested that the Andhra Pradesh government enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with Isro to stimulate the interest in Space research among the youth.

Speaking as the primary guest at the National Space Day festivities held at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC-SHAR) in Sriharikota on Tuesday, Pawan Kalyan stressed the importance of guiding the curiosity of the youth in a positive direction. Noting the abundant curiosity among the youth of AP, Kalyan, who oversees the departments of science & technology, mentioned the necessity for proper guidance.

The proposed MoU aims to exchange scientific knowledge and offer valuable guidance to young individuals keen on Space research. Discussions will be conducted with Isro officials to solicit their advice to young people, assisting them in identifying career paths or research opportunities. The deputy CM expressed optimism that this endeavor would motivate more young individuals to pursue professions in science and technology. Pawan Kalyan awarded students who excelled in various competitions held during the National Space Day festivities. In attendance were SDSC SHAR director A. Rajarajan and other officials.

Pawan Kalyan lauded Isro’s evolution from its modest origins in Kerala’s Thumba to becoming a premier Space agency. He commended Isro’s capability to conduct Space missions at significantly reduced costs, highlighting that India’s Mars mission cost less than a Hollywood movie. Pawan Kalyan noted Isro’s current capture of nearly three percent of the Space market and its substantial contribution to the nation’s GDP. He also pointed out the increase in Isro’s annual budget allocation from 25,615 crore in 2013-14 to 13,700 crore in 2022-23. The state government pledged full support to Isro’s upcoming Gaganyaan project, taking immediate steps to enhance a 17-km road leading to SHAR, as per Isro’s request.

The Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) has delayed the launch date of its third developmental flight of the Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV) by one day. Isro sources cited the postponement due to the National Space Day celebrations at Sriharikota on Tuesday and Independence Day celebrations on August 15. The SSLV-D3 is now scheduled to launch from Sriharikota on August 16 at 9.17 am local time. This forthcoming flight, identified as SSLV-D3/EOS-08, signifies a crucial milestone for Isro, being the organization’s third launch of the year and serving as the final demonstration flight for the SSLV program.

The success of this mission is vital in validating the rocket’s capabilities and readiness for operational deployment. Scientists have completed the rocket integration work and readied it for launch, including final tests. It was reported that ISRO chairman Dr. S. Somanath convened a crucial meeting with scientists at Sriharikota on Tuesday to deliberate on the launch process. Designed to deploy satellites weighing up to 500 kg into Earth orbit, the SSLV carries three primary payloads on this mission.
