Amaravati, November 27: Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu are bracing for the impact of a severe cyclone that is intensifying into a typhoon. The cyclone, which formed in the Southwest Bay of Bengal, is moving at a speed of 12 km per hour in a north-west direction. It is currently located approximately 300 km southeast of Trincomalee and 770 km from Chennai. Meteorologists have confirmed that the storm, named Fengal, is expected to turn into a full-fledged typhoon today, with the possibility of it crossing the coast between Puducherry and Chennai.

Alerts Issued for Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh

In response to the cyclone’s growing intensity, Tamil Nadu has issued a red alert for the states of Puducherry and Tamil Nadu, while Andhra Pradesh is on yellow alert. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted heavy to very heavy rainfall, particularly in Cuddalore, Myladudurai, and Tiruvarur districts, prompting local authorities to declare holidays for educational institutions in these regions. Already, Nagapattinam district has started experiencing heavy rains due to the cyclone’s impact.

Impact on Andhra Pradesh

In Andhra Pradesh, the cyclone’s effects are expected to cause moderate to heavy rains over the next 24 hours in districts such as Nellore and Tirupati. In the subsequent 48 hours, Annamaiya, Prakasam, and Chittoor districts are also likely to receive heavy rainfall. The Uttarandhra region is expected to experience significant rainfall from November 30 onward.

The cyclone’s influence has prompted the Andhra Pradesh Disaster Management Department to issue alerts, and officials have warned fishermen not to venture out to sea due to the dangerous weather conditions. All coastal ports in the state are under emergency alert number one, and district collectors have been instructed to take precautionary measures to ensure the safety of the public.

Precautionary Measures for the Public

In light of the severe weather conditions, authorities are urging the public to stay informed through official channels and to take necessary precautions, especially in the affected coastal and low-lying areas. The Department of Disaster Management is on high alert, and local governments have been asked to be ready for any eventualities. The public is advised to avoid unnecessary travel during the storm’s peak impact and stay indoors as much as possible.

Legal actions are underway for social media posts that harm individuals, spread false information, or incite unrest.

In a recent move, the Prakasam District Police in Andhra Pradesh have ramped up their efforts to combat the growing issue of inappropriate content being posted on social media. Those found posting obscene, immoral, or hateful messages on platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, Telegram, YouTube, and X (formerly Twitter) are facing serious legal consequences under the Information Technology (IT) Act.

Several high-profile figures have already been implicated in the crackdown. Film director Ram Gopal Varma and YCP leader Posani Krishna Murali have both been the subjects of complaints and cases filed at local police stations in Prakasam district. In the case of Varma, a complaint was made by TDP General Secretary M. Ramalingam, accusing the director of posting inappropriate comments related to prominent political leaders as part of his movie promotion. Similarly, TNSF leaders have filed complaints against Posani Krishna Murali for allegedly insulting TTD Chairman BR Naidu during a media conference.

The police are acting swiftly, issuing notices to the accused and requiring their appearance at local police stations. Ram Gopal Varma has already been asked to appear at the Maddipadu police station on the 19th of this month. Police are also considering further legal action after receiving complaints about personal insults, trolling, and derogatory posts aimed at public figures, organizations, and individuals.

Prakasam Police’s Stand on Social Media Offenses
According to SP Damodar, any form of trolling, personal insults, threats, or the spreading of false information through social media will lead to legal action. This includes the posting of morphed images, videos, and the use of despicable language that targets individuals or groups based on their caste, religion, or political affiliation. The police emphasize that such posts should not be used to inflame tensions or disrupt public peace.

The police are continuously monitoring social media platforms through their cyber cell team, focusing on individuals or groups that post false, provocative, or harmful content. SP Damodar also warned that people, especially youth, should be cautious with their online presence. He reminded the public that once a case is registered, individuals could face long-term consequences such as difficulties in obtaining jobs, passports, or visas.

Legal Implications of Social Media Misuse
The crackdown is a reminder that the law treats social media behavior with the same seriousness as other forms of public conduct. Posting or sharing misleading news, spreading hate, or encouraging others to do so can lead to severe legal repercussions. Those found guilty of these actions, including group administrators who allow such content on their platforms, will also face legal penalties.

Conclusion
In conclusion, the Prakasam District Police are sending a strong message that online behavior must be responsible and respectful. With their vigilant monitoring and strict legal actions, the authorities are working to ensure that social media remains a space for healthy communication, free from harmful and divisive content.

The mastermind behind the scheme, Nutalapati Murali, is on the run, and authorities are now investigating the case.

A Massive Scam Exposed in Donkey Milk Business

A fraudulent donkey milk scheme has taken farmers in Telugu and Kannada states by storm, leaving them devastated after millions of rupees were swindled in the name of a business opportunity. The scam, orchestrated by Nutalapati Murali, the founder of the so-called “Jenny Milk” company, has now been exposed after many victims came forward to report their financial losses.

The Rise and Fall of Jenny Milk

Three months ago, Nutalapati Murali set up the Jenny Milk company in Anantapur district, Andhra Pradesh, promising farmers in Karnataka and surrounding areas a lucrative opportunity to profit from donkey milk. Murali convinced around 200 farmers in Hospet, Karnataka, that they could make large sums of money by rearing donkeys and selling their milk. The scheme appeared legitimate as he offered farmers three donkeys for an upfront payment of Rs. 3 lakhs, promising to buy the milk at Rs. 2,000 per liter.

The victims, lured by the prospect of high returns, eagerly paid the required amount, expecting to receive their donkeys and start their milk production business. However, after handing over their money, the farmers received their donkeys but found themselves unable to sell any milk back to the company. The promises of regular milk purchases were never fulfilled, and the company began making excuses to delay payments.

The Investigation and the Fugitive

As suspicion grew, one farmer took action and filed a complaint with the local authorities. An investigation soon revealed that Nutalapati Murali’s company lacked the necessary permits for such a business, and his claims about the health benefits of donkey milk were exposed as a sham. The authorities moved quickly to shut down Jenny Milk, seizing the company’s office, but Murali had already absconded, leaving behind a trail of devastated farmers.

It has now come to light that the company was a classic Ponzi scheme. Farmers who had invested in multiple donkeys were left with no recourse, and many are now struggling to care for their animals. The scam has left farmers in a financial crisis, with some reporting losses of up to Rs. 9 crore, as they were convinced that donkey milk could cure various ailments, including asthma and fatigue.

The Donkey Milk Business: A Dubious Promise

Donkey milk has gained a reputation for being an expensive commodity, often marketed as a cure-all for various health issues, especially for children and asthma patients. It is also claimed to be used in the preparation of beauty products like soaps and creams. However, the fraudulent nature of the Jenny Milk business has shown how such claims can be exploited to manipulate people into making large investments with no actual returns.

In the aftermath, victims are now left with numerous donkeys and no way to recover their investment. As they gather outside police stations, asking for help, many are unsure how to deal with the tens of donkeys they bought under false pretenses. Meanwhile, Nutalapati Murali continues to evade arrest, leaving the farmers to face the consequences of his deception.

A Lesson in Caution

This scam serves as a harsh reminder of the risks involved in unverified business ventures. The “donkey milk” fraud has taken advantage of people’s trust and desperation for profitable opportunities, especially in rural areas where such schemes often go unchecked. As authorities continue their search for Murali, the case remains a sobering example of how vulnerable individuals can fall victim to deceptive practices.

The question remains: will the fugitive mastermind behind this donkey business fraud ever be caught, or will the victims continue to walk in circles, hoping for justice? Only time will tell.

Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu is set to launch another transformative welfare initiative as part of his “Super Six” promises, with plans to implement the “Free RTC Bus Travel for Women” scheme by Sankranti on January 14. Aimed at empowering women through accessible public transportation, this scheme is expected to be a landmark step in Andhra Pradesh’s development agenda.

On November 6, Naidu and key cabinet ministers, including BC Janardhan Reddy, Kollu Ravindra, and Ramprasad Reddy, will convene to finalize the scheme’s rollout strategy. Preparations are already underway, as APSRTC officials have drawn up a detailed blueprint after studying similar models in Telangana and Karnataka. These neighboring states have successfully executed comparable programs, and APSRTC’s visits to observe their operational structures have provided insights into possible adaptations for Andhra Pradesh.

This initiative follows another successful rollout under Naidu’s Super Six commitments: the free gas refill scheme for white ration card holders. In just four days, over five lakh beneficiaries have taken advantage of the three free gas refills, a clear indication of the scheme’s popularity and effectiveness.

With APSRTC currently generating monthly revenue around ₹2,500 crore from ticket sales, of which about ₹220 crore is allocated for diesel, the government will need to make substantial financial adjustments. The free travel scheme will require the state to forgo an estimated ₹125 crore per month in revenue while also providing APSRTC an additional ₹250 crore in subsidies. Altogether, the scheme could lead to a monthly expense of approximately ₹375 crore for the government. Despite this financial commitment, the cabinet’s determination signals a strong push to prioritize women’s welfare and the ease of public transport access across Andhra Pradesh.

The Sankranti festival holds special significance in Andhra culture, symbolizing new beginnings and community unity. By launching the free RTC bus travel scheme for women on this auspicious day, Naidu aims to not only keep his electoral promise but also empower women to travel safely and affordably throughout the state.

Stay tuned for updates on the November 6 cabinet meeting and the official confirmation of the scheme’s rollout timeline.

Bollywood sensation Alia Bhatt, who had set her sights on expanding her influence in the Telugu film market, has been met with disappointment. Her latest film, Jigra, aimed at showcasing her versatility, has failed to leave a mark in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, garnering a modest box office collection of just ₹30-35 lakh.

A local distributor expressed his dismay, stating, “The revenge saga failed to connect with Telugu viewers. Other films performed significantly better during the Dasara holidays, which usually sees a boom in box office numbers.” This lackluster performance is a stark contrast to the hype surrounding the film, which was backed by Bollywood heavyweights and promoted by prominent figures in the Telugu industry, such as Samantha, Rana Daggubati, and renowned director Trivikram Srinivas.

Jigra was anticipated to be a hit, riding on the success of Alia’s previous performances, especially after she won over Telugu audiences with her role in RRR. However, the film’s predictable storyline and familiar brother-sister theme failed to draw a crowd. The distributor pointed out, “Overhype can sometimes backfire. Telugu viewers have high expectations, and a film needs more than star power to make an impact.”

This setback for Alia Bhatt reflects a broader trend in the Telugu industry, where female-oriented films have struggled to find success. Even established stars like Kajal Aggarwal in Satyabhama, Tamannah in Baak, and Anjali in Geetanjali Malli Vachindi have faced difficulties. Alia now joins this list, underlining the challenges Bollywood actresses face when trying to carve a niche in the Telugu states.

With Jigra, Alia’s ambitions of cementing her place in the Telugu market have taken a hit. It remains to be seen how she will navigate this setback and whether she will attempt another foray into Telugu cinema. For now, it serves as a reminder that star power alone may not be enough to guarantee success in a diverse and dynamic industry.

In a heartwarming outcome of the Praja Darbar (Public Court) initiative, Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh recently helped save the life of a 14-day-old infant from NTR district. The Praja Darbar event, which serves as a platform for citizens to voice their concerns and seek assistance, proved to be a lifeline for Chadala Maheshwara Rao and his wife, a couple from Jaggayyapeta, as they faced a daunting medical crisis with their newborn.

A few weeks ago, the couple sought help at one of the public court events, explaining their plight to Minister Lokesh. Their baby boy had been rushed to a nearby hospital when he was only 14 days old, after he had been crying persistently. However, the situation escalated when his platelet count dropped drastically, and doctors advised an immediate transfer to a hospital in Vijayawada for specialized treatment.

In Vijayawada, the parents received devastating news: the high cost of treatment was beyond their means. The family, belonging to a tribal community, had little hope of affording the care their child desperately needed. On the advice of a friend, Maheshwara Rao went to Undavalli on September 27 to attend the Praja Darbar, where he presented his situation to Minister Lokesh.

Responding promptly, Lokesh arranged financial aid from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) to cover the child’s treatment costs. After 14 days of intensive medical care, the infant recovered and returned home healthy, filling his parents’ hearts with relief and gratitude.

This week, the parents returned to Praja Darbar to personally thank Lokesh, expressing their deep appreciation for the minister’s swift assistance. The Public Court event also saw Lokesh addressing other grievances, including the issue of social security pensions, encroachments of public land, employment reinstatements at Sri Venkateswara University, and compensation for flood victims in Vijayawada.

In response to these concerns, Lokesh assured those in attendance that steps would be taken to resolve each issue. He pledged to take strict action against encroachments and provide prompt assistance for the affected communities. The success story of the infant’s recovery highlights the impact of the Praja Darbar initiative, reinforcing its role as a platform where citizens’ voices are heard and urgent needs addressed.

Minister Lokesh’s ongoing commitment to community welfare and responsive governance is paving the way for tangible change in Andhra Pradesh. The Praja Darbar initiative continues to stand as a beacon of hope for those seeking relief, assistance, and resolution to pressing issues in their lives.

In a ceremonial event that showcased the rich traditions of Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu presented exquisite silk cloths to Tirumala Srivara on behalf of the state government. This presentation was part of the grand festivities for the Srivari Salakatla Brahmotsavam, a significant annual event dedicated to Lord Venkateswara, held at the famous Tirumala temple.

The event unfolded between 5:45 PM and 6:00 PM, with a scientific flag hoisting ceremony taking place at Meenalagnam. CM Chandrababu Naidu, along with his wife, offered the silk cloths to the deity, marking the 14th time he has made this offering on behalf of the state government. Following the ceremony, the Chief Minister arrived at the Bedi Anjaneyaswamy temple at 7:55 PM, continuing the age-old tradition of honoring the deity.

After presenting the silk garments, a grand procession featuring mangala instruments made its way from the Bedi Anjaneyaswamy temple to the Srivari temple. At the temple’s main gate, Chandrababu Naidu was welcomed by TTD Executive Officer J. Shyamala Rao and Additional EO C.H. Venkaiah Chaudhary, who accompanied him throughout the visit.

The Chief Minister and his entourage paid their respects at various sacred sites within the temple complex, including Vakulamatha, Vimana Venkateswaraswamy, and Bhashyakarla Sannidhi, concluding their visit at Yoga Narasimhaswamy. Following the temple rituals, Vedic scholars performed blessings through the chanting of Vedic mantras in the Ranganayakula Mandapam.

The EO also presented the teerthaprasadas of Srivari to the CM, further solidifying the spiritual significance of the event. CM Naidu was accompanied by the State Debt and Charities Minister Anam Ram Narayana Reddy, along with numerous officials and MLAs, underscoring the importance of the occasion for the state and its cultural heritage.

This event not only highlights the deep-rooted religious traditions of Andhra Pradesh but also reflects the government’s commitment to preserving and promoting these customs.
