According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), this system, located off the south coast and north Tamil Nadu, is expected to move west-southwestward and gradually weaken over the next 24 hours.

In addition to the low-pressure system, a surface depression at 4.5 km altitude is influencing weather patterns across the region. Combined with a western trough moving over North India, the system is drawing moisture and causing widespread rains and a notable dip in temperatures.
