]]> Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan has unveiled that the state administration has initiated three significant actions, including organizing gram sabhas in 13,325 panchayats, conducting a pulse survey to track the use of funds from the Jal Jeevan Mission, and augmenting financial support to panchayats for hosting Independence Day and Republic Day festivities. These strategic measures, designed to rejuvenate and fortify village panchayats and the sarpanch system within the state, are set to be promptly put into effect. The Deputy CM, who oversees the panchayat raj, rural development, and rural water supply portfolios, emphasized in a statement on Saturday, “Following Mahatma Gandhi’s ideology, villages are the cornerstone of the nation, and gram swaraj is the pathway to the country’s advancement.” Pawan emphasized the government’s commitment to revitalizing gram panchayats by empowering them financially and enhancing essential services in rural areas. He criticized the previous YSRC government for not only withholding funds but redirecting them to power distribution companies, leaving panchayats unable to even procure bleaching powder for sanitation initiatives in villages. This was the dire state of panchayats under the previous administration, he pointed out.
