]]>The incident came to light when jail authorities, acting on suspicion, conducted a thorough inspection. To their shock, they discovered 95 grams of ganja inside the tiffin box. The officials promptly seized the contraband and alerted the local police. The Arilova police, led by CI Malleswara Rao, arrested Srinivasa Rao and launched an investigation into the matter.
According to reports, Kadiam Srinivasa Rao had been working in the prison for the past one and a half years on deputation. During his tenure, he reportedly started smuggling ganja for inmates. Upon questioning, Srinivasa Rao admitted to supplying marijuana to Gurrala Sai, a remand prisoner and rowdy-sheeter.
The investigations revealed that Srinivasa Rao acted as a middleman for external suppliers and facilitated the transfer of drugs to inmates, operating under the pretense of routine duties.
The Arilova police are now focusing on identifying the external network supplying the ganja to Srinivasa Rao. Authorities are determined to dismantle the entire operation, ensuring that all parties involved face strict action.
This incident has raised serious concerns about the integrity of jail staff and the security measures in place to prevent contraband from entering prisons. The discovery of a staff member enabling illegal activities has left jail authorities reevaluating their protocols.
The arrest of Srinivasa Rao underscores the need for stricter oversight in jails. Authorities must implement stronger measures to prevent similar breaches and maintain the sanctity of the correctional system.
