OFFICIALS PACKING OUT FLOOD RELIEF SUPPLIES

For the next five days, the IMD expects the state to see a lot of rain and thunderstorms.

Yanam and NCAP in coastal Andhra:

On Saturday and Sunday, there is a chance of isolated heavy rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and strong gusts of 30 to 40 kmph. For the next several days, there may be sporadic rain.

Andhra’s South Coast (SCAP):

On Sunday, heavy to extremely heavy rain is expected in a number of locations. There will be rain throughout this week.

Rayalaseema:

In isolated locations, thunderstorms and lightning are probable during the next five days. Update on Rainfall: Authorities in the Krishna district have identified ten to twelve weak spots, such as Sundarapalli, on either side of the flood banks. In order to place sand bags and casuarina sticks in key spots in case there is a breach at any weak flood banks, they have begun mobilizing flood relief supplies.

R. Kasi Visweswara Rao, the conservator of “As we are getting copious water into the Godavari River from upstream, we are diverting 12,000 cusecs of water into the three canals for cultivation of crops, while lifted the crest gates of the Dowleswaram barrage by a few inches to discharge 80,000 cusecs of water downstream into the sea.”

The Godavari River does not currently have any restrictions on the use of tourist boats.

The Godavari had the worst floods in 1986, when the barrage released about 36 lakh cusecs of water. In 12022, the discharge was approximately 25 lakh cusecs.

Is first with 151 mm, then Tenali (123 mm) and Guntur (142 mm). The districts of Rayalaseema had the least amount of rainfall.

On the first day, isolated areas across Yanam, the South Coastal Andhra Pradesh (SCAP), and the North Coastal Andhra Pradesh (NCAP) are predicted to see intense rain. Additionally, lightning-accompanied thunderstorms should be expected in the area. There may probably be isolated instances of strong surface winds in NCAP, Yanam, SCAP, and Rayalaseema, with speeds of 30 to 40 km/h.

Day 2 and Day 3 see more of the same weather, with heavy rain expected in isolated areas over Yanam and NCAP. All around NCAP, thunderstorms with lightning are predicted.
