The rain is set to intensify on Wednesday, with extremely heavy rainfall forecasted for Nellore, Tirupati, Chittoor, Annamayya, and YSR Kadapa. Prakasam and Sri Sathya Sai may also see very heavy rain in isolated spots, with heavy rainfall expected in parts of Anantapur district.

The rainy spell will continue into Thursday, impacting Chittoor, Annamayya, Sri Sathya Sai, and Anantapur with heavy rain, while Nellore, Tirupati, and Kadapa districts will experience heavy showers.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu held a teleconference with district collectors on Monday, urging them to maintain high alert as the state braces for these extreme weather conditions. He noted that 18 districts have already received above-average rainfall this season. Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha also conducted a review meeting with officials in Visakhapatnam to ensure preparedness.

East, West, and Krishna were the worst-affected districts, with highways submerged by storm water.

At the Gubbala Mangamma temple in the forests of Bottaigudem village in West Godavari, where the water was waist deep, over a hundred devotees and thirty shopkeepers remained.
