During his address, Mr. Naidu praised the Indian Navy’s bravery, technological advancements, and efforts to engage with the community. He emphasized the strong historical connection between Andhra Pradesh and the Navy, commending their role in securing maritime borders and promoting goodwill.

Vice Admiral Rajesh Pendharkar expressed gratitude to the state government and local administration for their unwavering support in organizing the event, ensuring its success.

During his trip to Darwin, the admiral engaged with the crew of the Indian Navy P8I aircraft involved in Kakadu 2024. Conversations with the crew covered various aspects of maritime air operations when working alongside partners, providing opportunities to assess and enhance tactics, techniques, and procedures.

This year’s event, running until September 20, features 13 warships and aircraft from navies and air forces of 11 nations. The exercise coincides with a commanders’ conference where military leaders from 28 countries are in attendance. Over 3,000 military personnel are gathering in Darwin for the event.

1st operational demo rehearsal, ahead of Navy Day celebrations, and it being a weekday, there was not much rush on the Beach Road, and the crowd enjoyed the breathtaking operations, as there was no jostling for space on the beach.

People watched in awe as fighter aircraft zipped past at close range, as they crisscrossed each other, moving in a circular path across the sky. The tactical exercises by the fighter aircraft of the Indian Navy were a visual treat to the visitors.

A box was placed and the naval personnel gave a running commentary on the displayed for the benefit of the general public. Some of the visitors were seen taking selfies with their family members with the choppers flying in the background at low heights.

Warships and submarines coming close to the coast and firing flares in the sky, provided a colorful spectacle in the sky. The operational demo ended with the illumination of the ships at dusk.

Two more operational demo rehearsals will be held from 4pm on November 30 and again on December 2 at RK Beach. The final Op Demo will be held December 4.
