The recent suicide of Parasuram, a 21-year-old student from Barsana, Uttar Pradesh, has sent shockwaves through the community. Having arrived in Kota just a week ago to prepare for the NEET exam, Parasuram was pursuing his academic aspirations by attending coaching classes and staying in a rented room. When concerns arose over his whereabouts, the police were alerted by the landlord, Anup Kumar. Tragically, Parasuram was discovered lifeless in his room, having taken his own life.

This heartbreaking incident sheds light on the challenges faced by students in Kota and the urgent need for mental health support and intervention within the academic community. With 13 student suicides reported this year and a distressing total of 30 cases from the previous year, the gravity of the situation cannot be ignored.
