The BC Welfare Department has issued orders for district centers across Andhra Pradesh to organize celebrations for Valmiki Jayanti, highlighting the importance of the revered sage Valmiki in local culture and history. Minister Lokesh, alongside BC Welfare Minister S. Savitha, will attend the celebrations in Anantapur to mark the occasion on a grand scale.

Minister Lokesh expressed his gratitude to the Boya and Valmiki communities for their active participation during the Yuvagalam padayatra. He emphasized that honoring Valmiki Jayanti as a state festival is a significant step towards recognizing the contributions and cultural heritage of these communities within Andhra Pradesh.

The celebrations will include various cultural programs, community events, and tributes to Maharishi Valmiki, who is considered the author of the ancient Indian epic, the Ramayana. With this, the state government aims to foster unity and promote cultural appreciation among its citizens.
