Singh recently conducted a thorough inspection of the ongoing development activities at Secunderabad station, accompanied by General Manager Arun Kumar Jain from South Central Railway. Emphasizing the extensive scope of the project, Singh disclosed that the station’s overhaul comes with a hefty price tag of 700 crores. The transformation includes the installation of solar panels, construction of large water tanks for enhanced water supply, and the creation of new platforms, lifts, waiting halls, and parking facilities.

In alignment with Prime Minister Modi’s vision to upgrade 119 railway stations under the South Central Railway’s Amrit Bharat initiative costing Rs. 5 billion, Secunderabad station stands as a pivotal part of this expansive modernization endeavor. Additionally, plans are underway to augment general bogies in trains progressively to accommodate the growing passenger demand. Singh reiterated the goal to achieve full accessibility at the station by 2026 and hinted at the imminent availability of the Charlapally railway terminal.
