]]> Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan held discussions with Karnataka’s Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and forest minister Ishwar Khandre in Bengaluru to address the challenges posed by elephant encounters in Andhra Pradesh and the illegal smuggling of red sandalwood logs. Pawan Kalyan, responsible for the forest portfolio, was invited by Karnataka’s forest minister for the meeting. The agenda included strategies for managing elephants, training mahouts, and involved the participation of senior forest officials from both states.

Following the meeting, Pawan Kalyan informed the media that Karnataka has agreed to provide 8 Kumki elephants to assist in controlling wild elephants in Andhra Pradesh, which is expected to reduce the damage to crops and property in the region. Additionally, discussions revolved around exploring eco-tourism opportunities such as safaris, jungle tours, and promoting environmentally sustainable practices. The Karnataka government has expressed interest in securing land for the construction of Yatrikula Sadan in forest areas, a matter that Pawan Kalyan plans to discuss with Chief Minister Naidu to identify suitable locations for the project.
