While our film had initially been cleared, the certification process has now been stopped due to numerous threats, including death threats, directed at Censor Board members. We are being pressured not to depict the assassination of Indira Gandhi, Bhindranwale, or the Punjab riots. I am left wondering what will be left to show… This is unbelievable for me, and I am very sorry for the state of things in this country.”
In a related development, the Telangana Sikh Society has raised concerns over potential law and order issues, calling for a similar ban in Telangana. The state’s Chief Minister, A. Revanth Reddy, has reportedly assured that he will review the situation after seeking legal advice.
