]]> Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu is set to inaugurate the Anna Canteens during a state-level ceremony in Gudivada on Independence Day, as part of the Telugu Desam Party’s commitment to providing subsidized meals for those in need at a nominal cost of 5 rupees. As part of the initiative, the first phase will see the establishment of 100 Anna Canteens this week, with the inaugural event taking place at Ramabrahmam Municipal Park in Gudivada. Originally planned for North Andhra, the venue was shifted to Gudivada in Krishna district due to the enforcement of the MLC election code.

Reflecting on the closure of the previous Anna Canteens by the YSRC government, Naidu expressed that the goal this time was to launch the canteens within the first 100 days of the current administration, which has been achieved ahead of schedule by two months. Urban Development Minister Ponguru Narayana highlighted that up until 2018, Anna Canteens had served meals to 4.60 crore individuals.

Following the inauguration, the remaining 99 canteens will be opened throughout the state by various government officials, with a total of 203 Anna Canteens anticipated to be operational. The additional 103 canteens are expected to commence operations starting from September 5.
