The construction of amenities for the state capital, Amaravati, is a high priority for the Andhra Pradesh government, which has dispatched a team of IIT engineers to assess the structural integrity of the buildings that have been left unfinished in previous years.
Amaravati’s judicial complex buildings, principal secretaries’ and secretaries’ bungalows, lawmakers’ apartments, officers’ apartments, non-governmental organizations’ residences, and other structures were all under development.
All construction had been put on hold because of the previous government’s shift in priorities and policies. Aside from the inundation of the foundations, the steel reinforcement has been harmed by the elements because the construction was stopped without a protective cover. The locations of the projects have become “jungles.” Clearing jungle was recently done by the APCRDA.
The capital of Amaravati saw the start of 17 projects at an anticipated cost of 9,617.21 crore, which eventually increased to 1,958.37 crore, according to APCRDA authorities.
For different projects, the physical development of the works varies from 6% to 80%. A total of 1,531.37 crore was spent on the 17 projects’ construction.
With a budget of Rs. 555.00 crore, construction on the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Complex has not yet begun.
