Alphabet’s Google announced on Wednesday that it has recently updated the AI image-creation model of Gemini and is preparing to introduce the creation of images depicting people in the upcoming days. This follows a pause in this capability that lasted for several months. In February, Google halted its AI tool for generating images of people due to inaccuracies found in certain historical images produced by the model. Users criticized the AI model for occasionally providing inaccurate historical images. Google stated that it has diligently worked on enhancing the product, aligning with product standards, and conducting simulations to identify weaknesses.
Initially, this new feature will be accessible to paid users of the Gemini AI chatbot in English, with plans to expand to more users and languages later on. The company has upgraded the Imagen 3 model to produce improved images of people, although it will not create images of specific individuals, children, or graphic content. Furthermore, Google revealed that in the near future, subscribers to Gemini’s advanced, business, and enterprise services will be able to interact with Gems or customized chatbots tailored for specific needs.
