As part of its comprehensive telecom reforms, DoT has introduced e-KYC (Know Your Customer) and Self KYC options for consumers, revolutionizing the process of switching between prepaid and postpaid services. With the implementation of Aadhaar-based e-KYC, Self KYC, and OTP-based service switch facilities, consumers can now purchase a new SIM card using only their Aadhaar card, at an affordable price of just Rs. 1 (inclusive of GST).
