Officials from the Meteorological Department have cautioned residents of Telangana as a low pressure system is anticipated to escalate into a cyclonic disturbance concentrated over the West Central Bay of Bengal and its adjoining northwest regions.
According to reports, the low pressure is projected to move southeastward from the North-Eastern Arabian Sea of Pakistan, passing through Malegaon, Brahmapuri, Jagdalpur, and Kalingapatnam, affecting areas in west-central regions. The forecast indicates heavy rainfall in many parts of Telangana on Saturday, accompanied by strong gusty winds, thunder, and lightning.
Authorities have advised the public to exercise vigilance in light of the impending weather conditions. The expected strengthening of the low pressure system over the West Central Bay of Bengal could lead to light to moderate rains in certain districts of Telangana, with a possibility of heavy rainfall in specific areas such as Adilabad, Komaram Bhim, Manchiryala, and others.
Moreover, districts including Nirmal, Nizamabad, Mulugu, and Khammam are likely to experience moderate rainfall. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for nine districts and a yellow alert for thirteen districts in anticipation of the weather disturbances.
Residents are urged to stay informed and cautious as wind speeds of 40 to 50 km per hour, accompanied by thunder and lightning, are expected in many locations.
